The 84th Oscars!

I watched the entire Oscar telecast last night (as I was nursing my hangover from Saturday night...got my Snooki on!), and it wasn't DVR'd, so I even watched the commercials!  I know, you're shocked right?!  I actually thought the show was pretty entertaining..from Billy Crystal as host, JLo's on-air wardrobe malfunction, the Cirque de soleil performance, and Meryl Streep's win for Best Actrss.  Here are my top fashion picks of the night...

Natalie Portman, love the dots & jewels

Michelle Williams, great color, so hot right now

Nina Dobrev, classic black, love the shapes

J.Lo, she loves the deep plunge, right?!  Love the sparkle

Jetsetter!

TGIF!!  Ben & I are planning a trip to California in May and I am playing the role of travel agent for the trip and so far it has been a blast!  However, I am sure the trip itself will be much more fun ;)

During the planning process I came across Gilt Groupe's Jetsetter site and they have the best variety & prices for hotels around the globe...check out the site and a few of my other favorite travel sites below!

Can't wait!!!

Snow Storm 2012!

Or as Ben would call it the "Texas Hooker" blizzard!  The storm came up from Texas and hooked around to Colorado! ;) We have gotten about 20 inches of snow at my house!  Holy moly!  Here are a few photos from the day...-S

Getting rid of the clutter!

One of my biggest pet peeves is clutter!  Especially mail clutter and "the pile" that sits on my kitchen table...so I found a hanging mail holder on eBay for $13.  Once it arrived I thought it might need some love, as the wood wasn't the best color.  The best method I could think of here was spray paint!  I purchased Satin Colonial Red by Rust-Oleum. First, I removed the compartment labels & filled in the holes with wood filler, allowed it to dry and then sanded.  Then I got ready to paint!  I love spray painting pieces, as it is a quick method and totally transforms the look of whatever you are painting.

After applying 2 coats of paint I taped off a section on each compartment so I could apply chalkboard paint to the new labels!  I then used 2 coats of Valspar Black Chalkboard paint for the labels...perfection!
