Puppy Party 2012

This weekend we had a visitor, Hendi, as our friends were out of town.  Our new pup, Chimay LOVES him so much and was glad he came to visit!  Here is a snapshot I took of the bunch..they are all looking at the camera!  Its a miracle. ;)
Happy Monday everyone! -S

Two Sweet Labs Live Here

I would like to introduce our 2 Labrador Retrievers! Ash (11) and Chimay (9 mos.). Ben got Ash in college and we adopted Chimay this past summer from Retriever Rescue of Colorado. She is quite a handful & keeps Ash on her toes! -S

Sunday Project: Make-up shelf organization

I have a shelf in my bathroom that I keep all of my make-up, hair accessories and brushes on, and after taking a look at it today I realized that this shelf was a total disaster and needed help, stat!  I purchased a great clear acrylic make-up organizer at Target for $16 and knew that it would do the trick for organizing the shelf.  I have other little jars and mini apothocary jars that are perfect for keeping eyeliners, mascara, bobby pins and hair ties organized.  See the before the after below...quite the improvement! -S

2011 was the year of chalkboard paint for me!  I made this chalkboard with a silver platter and black chalkboard paint from Home Depot.  I sit it on top of my fridge and change the message depending on the season.

I found a simple 3 drawer dresser on Craigslist for $40!  This was my first furniture painting project where I used latex paint, and it definitely took me some time to finish the project. First, I removed the finish with a electric sander, then after coats of primer I was ready to paint with Behr's Antique Grey.  I found the perfect hardware at Hobby Lobby and wa-la...my first painted dresser didn't turn out so bad!
